SENTRY Welcomes Lauretta AI as the Newest Industry Advisory Board Member
As the latest addition to SENTRY’s Industry Advisory Board (IAB), Lauretta AI will play a role in advancing research and innovation in support of the center’s mission to conduct stakeholder-informed research to better secure soft targets and to educate the homeland security workforce in this space.
Founded in 2016, Lauretta AI uses a client’s existing cameras to provide Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven video analytics and predictive solutions. With a strong commitment to privacy and human-centric AI principles, the solutions are designed to understand and respond to events within properties while refraining from the use of biometric technologies, ensuring an anonymous and ethical approach to AI applications.
Michael Silevitch, SENTRY Director, shares, “Lauretta AI’s expertise in AI-driven solutions complements SENTRY’s commitment to advancing security measures through innovative technology and transformative research. This partnership will leverage our combined strengths to drive advancements in the security landscape.”
SENTRY IAB members are critically important in successfully transitioning technology. Partnering with industry leaders such as Lauretta AI enables SENTRY to harness their collective expertise and cutting-edge technology, thus becoming a force multiplier in the field of security. IAB members financially contribute to the center through donations, which supplement core funding provided by DHS, to help defray administrative expenses, and enable the expansion of research efforts.
Partnership with SENTRY includes opportunities to collaborate on proposals and task orders, extensive networking prospects, involvement in workshops and conferences, and access to high-level security experts. This partnership allows Lauretta AI to use SENTRY’s test bed facilities and datasets and participate in focus groups, brainstorming sessions, case studies, and product demonstrations. Additionally, members can engage with SENTRY students for the promotion of internships, co-op programs, and hiring opportunities, providing a pipeline of talent for Lauretta AI’s growth and development.
“We are excited to join SENTRY’s Industry Advisory Board and tap into their deep knowledge across the security domain,” Lauretta AI Co-founder and CEO Galvin Widjaja explains. “By partnering with SENTRY, Lauretta AI gains invaluable perspective into the real-world challenges facing public safety and soft target security. Coupling our AI and machine vision expertise with SENTRY’s insights will further advance our video analytics technology capabilities around contextualizing on-camera events and responding appropriately to suspicious or dangerous activities. This partnership will enable stronger development of contextually aware security systems that protect spaces without infringing on civil liberties.”
