Workshop Information

ADSA26 addressed the topic of “Reducing the Lethality of Attacks on Soft Targets”. Specific topics that will be addressed in this context include:

  • Detecting people with malicious intent and their weapons
  • Hardening venues
  • Rapid response to events
  • Virtual sentries (command and control centers)
  • Emerging technologies

Date and Time: ADSA26 occured on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm ET and Thursday, December 1, 2022, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm ET both in-person in Boston and with an option to participate virtually.

Location: 17th Floor Event Space, East Village Building, Northeastern University, Boston, MA (Street Address: 291 Saint Botolph Street, Boston, MA 02115), and virtually online.

Fees: There will be a $100 registration fee to defray the costs of hosting the in-person event and supporting the virtual event. The registration fee is only for those people in the industry who are not members of Northeastern’s Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) and are not presenting.

The ADSA workshops are convened by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Emeritus Center of Excellence (COE) for Awareness and Localization of Explosives-Related Threats (ALERT) at Northeastern University (NU). This workshop will also be convened by NU’s new DHS Center of Excellence entitled Soft target Engineering to Neutralize the Threat Reality (SENTRY).
