Congratulations to SENTRY Community Awardees
January was an award-winning month for the SENTRY Community. Four of our team members earned recognition for outstanding service, innovation, and leadership in their fields. Read on to celebrate their accomplishments and join us in extending our congratulations.
Stacy Marsella, SENTRY researcher and Northeastern professor of Computer Science and Psychology, was awarded the 2022 Influential Paper Award from the International Foundation for Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems (IFAAMAS). IFAAMAS is a nonprofit organization focused on advancing science and technology in artificial intelligence, autonomous agents, and multiagent systems. Each year this organization recognizes a publication that has made influential and long-lasting contributions to the field. Stacy, along with his co-author Jonathon Gratch, received recognition for their paper on computationally modeling human stress and its impact on cognition. Congratulations!
Celebration is also in order for Tiffany Lam, SENTRY’s Associate Director of Events and Operations. Tiffany recently received the Northeastern College of Engineering’s Going the Extra Mile (GEM) Award. The College of Engineering accepts nominations for staff members who demonstrate remarkable leadership ability, offer innovative contributions, and perform beyond expectations. Tiffany has been a valuable member of the SENTRY team for six years and we are thrilled to see her talents recognized. Way to go Tiffany!
We also applaud Jun Zhuang for his new fellowship with the Society for Risk Analysis (SRA). Jun is a SENTRY researcher and a professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Buffalo. SRA publishes the leading scholarly journal in risk analysis and grants fellowships to only one percent of its members each year. We are so happy to congratulate Jun for being selected as one of the 2022 fellows. Hooray!
Finally, please join us in congratulating Ian Unson, a second-year Ph.D. student at the University of Buffalo, for winning an SRA Student Merit Award for his SENTRY research. Ian is focused on protecting public spaces from targeted violence using game theory and operations research. It is wonderful to see members of our SENTRY team making such strides in their fields. Keep it up, Ian!
Congratulations to all four team members for their respective honors. We appreciate all you do for us here at SENTRY.
